The Baseball Bull's Secret Pool
Lily loved the old dusty baseball behind her garage. It had been her grandfather's, and she imagined it held magical secrets. One hot summer afternoon, she threw it high into the air, but instead of coming back down, it floated!
"Follow me!" the baseball seemed to chirp. Lily chased it through the meadow until it stopped beside a enormous bull — but this wasn't any ordinary bull. His horns were shaped like baseball bats, and his spotted coat looked like a thousand baseballs stitched together.
"I'm Buster," the bull rumbled gently. "And I know where the magical water flows."
Lily's eyes widened. She had heard stories about the Singing Water that could grant wishes. "Can we go there?"
"Only if you promise to be my friend," Buster said. "Everyone runs away because I'm big and scary."
Lily smiled and patted his giant nose. "Friends come in all sizes. Let's go!"
Buster lowered his back, and Lily climbed on. As they walked, her baseball rolled ahead, glowing brighter and brighter. Suddenly, it disappeared into a hole in a giant oak tree.
"The secret entrance!" Buster exclaimed.
Inside, Lily gasped. An underground cavern sparkled with blue water that hummed beautiful melodies. In the center floated her baseball, now the size of a beach ball and shimmering like a star.
"Make a wish," the water sang.
Lily thought carefully. "I wish for everyone to see that bulls can be gentle, and baseballs can be magic, and that the best friends are the ones who surprise you."
The water splashed joyfully. Baseballs rained from the ceiling — not just any baseballs, but ones that would always find their way back to children who needed friends.
"Your wish is granted," the water whispered. "But the real magic was already there — in your kind heart."
Lily hugged Buster. "Can we come back tomorrow?"
"Every day," the bull promised. "That's what friends do."
And so they did, sharing magical adventures and teaching everyone that sometimes the most wonderful friends are the ones you least expect.
