Penny's Midnight Garden

Penny was a girl who loved surprises. One summer night, something magical happened. A tiny goldfish with shimmering orange scales appeared at her window, flying through the air on gossamer wings!

"Come with me!" bubbled the goldfish in a voice like silver bells. "The Moon Garden needs you!"

Penny's heart raced with excitement. She grabbed her favorite shoes and went running down the garden path, following the fluttering fish. Fireflies lit their way like floating lanterns.

The Moon Garden was more beautiful than anything Penny had ever seen. Giant papaya fruits glowed like golden moons hanging from silver trees. But something was wrong—the garden was wilting!

"The Dream Spring has stopped flowing," said the goldfish sadly. "Without it, the magic fades."

Penny saw a crystal pond covered in tangled vines. She wasn't afraid. She dove right in, swimming deeper and deeper until she found a massive rock blocking the spring's source. She pushed with all her might, her legs kicking strong and sure.

With a mighty splash, the rock moved! Magic water burst forth, sparkling with rainbow colors. The garden bloomed instantly—papayas swelled with sweetness, flowers burst open, and everywhere she looked, new wonders appeared.

The goldfish did a joyful flip in the air. "You saved us! Now, make a wish!"

Penny thought carefully. She could wish for anything—treasure, adventures, magic powers. But she looked at her new friend and smiled.

"I wish that every child could have a magical friend like you."

The goldfish's scales shone brighter than ever. "Granted!" it sang.

That morning, Penny woke up in her own bed. A perfect papaya sat on her nightstand, and in her fishbowl swam the friendliest goldfish in the world, blowing tiny bubbles that spelled: THANK YOU.

Sometimes, Penny wondered if it was all a dream. But then she'd see her goldfish do a little flip, and she knew—magic is real, especially when you share it with friends.
