Oliver's Starlight Chase
Oliver was a small orange cat with very big dreams. Every night, he watched the stars from his windowsill and wondered what it would be like to touch them.
One evening, something magical happened. Tiny glowing crystals rained down from the sky like sparkly snow. Oliver caught one on his paw. It felt warm and tingly.
"A star vitamin!" whispered Mrs. Willow, the oldest oak tree in the garden. "These fallen stars give creatures special gifts. But they only work if you use them to help others."
Oliver felt a surge of energy rush through his body. Suddenly, he was running faster than he'd ever run before. He zipped past the garden fence, dashed around the pond, and skidded to a stop at the edge of the Whispering Woods.
His friend Penny, a tiny hedgehog, was trapped on a high branch after a heavy storm. "Oliver!" she cried. "I've been stuck here all day. My family must be so worried!"
Oliver's heart pounded. The star vitamin's magic was already fading. He had to make a choice — use the last of his speed to show off, or use it to save his friend.
He didn't hesitate. Oliver leaped into action, running up the trunk with impossible speed. He reached Penny just as the magic dissolved completely. Together, they climbed down slowly.
"You saved me!" Penny squeaked. "How did you move so fast?"
Oliver smiled. "A friend gave me something special. But the real magic wasn't the speed. It was using it to help someone I care about."
That night, as Oliver curled up on his windowsill, more star vitamins fell from the sky. But he didn't chase them. He already had everything he needed — good friends and a kind heart.
And sometimes, that's the most powerful magic of all.
