Milo and the Moonlight Cable
Milo loved exploring his grandmother's dusty basement. One rainy Saturday, while searching for old board games, he spotted something peculiar behind a stack of boxes—a silver cable that seemed to glow with its own soft light, pulsing like a heartbeat.
The cable snaked across the floor and disappeared through a tiny crack in the wall. Curiosity tingling in his fingertips, Milo gave it a gentle tug. Suddenly, the cable began to hum, and tiny stars sparked along its length like fireflies on a summer evening.
"Who's there?" a small voice squeaked.
Milo jumped! A creature no bigger than his thumb popped out from behind a box. She had lavender skin, sparkly wings, and wore a dress made of flower petals.
"I'm Luna," she said. "And that moonlight cable connects my world to yours. It only appears when someone truly needs a friend."
Milo's eyes widened. "You're from another world?"
Luna nodded and handed him a tiny golden pill that shimmered like a rainbow. "This is a courage vitamin. In my world, we take vitamins for our feelings, not just our bodies. This one helps scared explorers become brave adventurers."
Milo's heart raced with excitement. "Will you show me your world?"
"Hold the cable and take the vitamin!" Luna chirped.
Milo swallowed the courage vitamin, which tasted like strawberries and sunshine. Instantly, he felt braver than ever before. Together, they held the glowing moonlight cable and whoosh!
They tumbled into a world where trees grew cotton candy, rivers flowed with lemonade, and friendship was the most powerful magic of all. Luna showed Milo her village, where everyone took care vitamins each morning—kindness pills, patience tablets, and generosity drops.
"We make sure everyone feels loved," Luna explained.
When it was time to return, Milo hugged his new friend tight. "Can I visit again?"
"The moonlight cable will appear whenever you need me," Luna promised. "True friends are never really far apart."
Back in his grandmother's basement, Milo noticed the cable was gone. But in his pocket, he found a small note that read: "Real magic is inside you. Take your friendship vitamin every day—kindness to others is the strongest magic of all."
From that day on, Milo made sure to be a good friend to everyone he met, and somehow, the lonely kids at school never felt quite so lonely anymore.
