Max and the Dancing Palm

Max loved exploring behind his grandmother's house, especially the old coconut grove where the trees swayed like sleepy dancers. One afternoon, he noticed a small palm tree that looked sad and droopy. Its leaves hung down like green spaghetti noodles.

"What's wrong, little friend?" Max asked, patting its rough trunk.

A colorful parrot swooped down from above. "That tree needs magic vitamin drops!" she squawked. "From the rainbow fruit that only grows during storms!"

Max's eyes widened. A storm was coming! He could see dark purple clouds gathering like giant grape jellybeans in the sky. As the first raindrops fell, he spotted something glowing near a fallen log — a small orange fruit that sparkled like a tiny star.

He carefully carried it to the palm tree and squeezed the magical juice onto its roots. Suddenly, the most amazing thing happened! The tree began to wiggle and shake. Its perked up and started waving!

A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, and the tree's fronds began moving like arms! The palm tree was dancing!

"Whoa!" Max laughed. "You're like a zombie palm — you came alive!"

But this zombie wasn't scary at all. The dancing palm dropped coconuts that rolled toward Max, each one filled with delicious juice. It was the tree's way of saying thank you.

"That's what I call real magic," Max grinned, taking a sip of the sweet coconut water. "Friendship is the best vitamin of all!"

From that day on, Max visited his dancing friend every afternoon. And whenever storms rolled in, the little palm would wiggle its leaves excitedly, ready to dance with joy.
