Mango and the Starlight Goldfish
Mango was a very round, very orange cat who lived in a cozy beach house. She spent most of her days napping in the shade of a giant palm tree that swayed in the ocean breeze.
Every afternoon, an old woman came out to sit on her porch, feeding the goldfish in a crystal bowl on her table. Mango would watch from under the palm fronds as the tiny fish glided through the water, shimmering like liquid sunshine.
"I wish I could swim like that," Mango sighed.
One starry night, when the moon was full and bright, something magical happened. The goldfish began to glow! It leaped right out of its bowl—*splash!*—and landed softly on the grass.
"Hello, Mango," said the goldfish in a voice like tinkling bells. "I've been waiting for someone with a big imagination."
Mango's orange eyes grew wide. "You can talk?"
"And much more," the goldfish twinkled. "Hold me in your paw, and wish upon the palm tree."
Mango carefully scooped up the glowing fish. Together, they touched their noses to the palm tree's trunk. *POOF!*
Suddenly, Mango wasn't a cat anymore. She was a magnificent orange fish! The palm tree had transformed into a magical underwater kingdom, and the two friends swam through coral castles and schools of rainbow fish.
"This is amazing!" Mango cheered, doing joyful flips.
But as dawn approached, the goldfish grew sad. "I have to return to my bowl. No one else knows about our magic."
Mango had an idea. "What if we share it?"
The next morning, the old woman found Mango asleep beside the goldfish bowl, her orange fur sparkling with glitter that never washed away. Sometimes, if you looked closely, you could see tiny fish swimming through her dreams.
And every night, Mango and her golden friend would touch the palm tree and swim through stars, proving that the best magic is the kind you share with friends.
