Luna's Lightning Magic
Luna had the most extraordinary orange hair in the entire neighborhood. It wasn't just orange — it was like captured sunshine, always wild and full of energy. Whenever she was happy, little sparks would dance through her curls.
One summer afternoon, while running through the park, Luna discovered something magical. Behind an old oak tree, hidden by tall grass, was a shimmering pool she'd never seen before. The water sparkled with colors she couldn't name — purple and gold and silver all swirling together.
"Hello?" she called softly, kneeling beside the water.
Suddenly, the sky darkened. A storm was rolling in fast. CRACK! Lightning struck nearby, making the ground tremble. But Luna wasn't scared. Her orange hair stood straight up, glowing brighter than ever, as if it were pulling the lightning right toward her!
Then she saw it — a tiny blue creature, no bigger than her hand, struggling in the pool. It looked like a water sprite, with delicate wings that were too heavy from the rain.
Without thinking, Luna reached in. As her fingers touched the water, the most amazing thing happened. The lightning that had been dancing in her hair flowed down her arm and into the pool. The water began to glow, and suddenly the little sprite was flying free, zooming around Luna's head in happy circles.
"Thank you!" the sprite chimed, dropping a beautiful silver stone into Luna's hand. "Your hair isn't just hair — it's magic! You saved me!"
From that day on, Luna understood that her unusual hair wasn't weird at all. It was special. And whenever she saw lightning during a storm, she knew it was reminding her: the things that make us different are often our greatest gifts.
