Luna and the Starlight Vitamin
Luna was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice and napped in sunbeams, Luna spent her days watching old Mr. Pemberwick play padel through the garden fence. She loved the rhythm of the game—the soft thwack of the ball, the players dancing across the court like magicians performing a spell.
One rainy afternoon, Luna discovered something magical in Mr. Pemberwick's garden shed. A glowing orange bottle labeled "STAR VITAMIN" sat on a dusty shelf. Being a curious cat, she knocked it over, and one single sparkling tablet rolled onto her paw.
When she accidentally licked it, her world transformed. Luna's fur shimmered like stardust. She could understand human speech. And she could hear the tiny, desperate voice of Mr. Pemberwick's pet goldfish, Finley, calling from his bowl in the kitchen.
"Help me!" Finley cried. "I'm not really a goldfish—I'm Prince Finbar of the Moonlit Kingdom! An evil wizard trapped me in this tiny body!"
Luna's heart raced. She needed a plan. That evening, when Mr. Pemberwick fell asleep in his armchair, Luna tiptoed into the kitchen and carried Finley's bowl outside. Under the moonlight, she told him everything.
"I know how to break the spell," Finley said. "We must play the ancient game of Star Padel at midnight, using a racket made from moonbeams and a ball of pure stardust."
Luna's eyes widened. She knew padel!
Using her new magical powers, Luna transformed an old twig into a glowing moonbeam racket. Finley used his fish magic to create a ball of stardust. Together, they played the most magical game of padel ever seen—cat and goldfish dancing under the stars, hitting stardust back and forth across an invisible net.
With each hit, Finley's fish body shimmered brighter. On the final point, Luna leaped high and smashed the stardust ball into the moon itself. A rainbow burst of light filled the garden!
When the light faded, Prince Finbar stood before her—a small, graceful boy with silver hair and sea-green eyes.
"Thank you, brave Luna," he said, pressing something into her paw. "This will let you visit my kingdom whenever you wish."
It was a small golden scale—part of the magic that had transformed him. From that night on, Luna was never just an ordinary cat again. By day, she napped and watched padel games. But when the moon rose high, she would touch her golden scale, and in a sparkle of starlight, she would visit her friend Finbar in the Moonlit Kingdom, where cats could talk, goldfish were princes in disguise, and every game of padel was filled with magic.
