Luna and the Star Cable
Luna was a small calico cat with the biggest dreams in the whole neighborhood. While other cats chased mice or napped in sunbeams, Luna spent her days staring at the thick black cable that disappeared into the sky from Mr. Higgins' roof.
"What's up there?" she'd meow at the cable. "Where do you go?"
The cable never answered, but Luna imagined it carried stories to the stars.
One rainy afternoon, Luna was running through Mrs. Garcia's garden when she spotted something magical. A single golden spark was traveling down the cable—slowly, deliberately, like a visitor arriving for tea.
Luna's heart pounded. She leaped onto the fence, scrambled up the apple tree, and landed softly on Mr. Higgins' roof. The spark stopped right in front of her nose.
POOF!
Where the spark had been, a tiny kitten now stood—no bigger than Luna's paw. His fur twinkled with starlight, and his eyes shone like tiny moons.
"I'm Cosmo," the kitten purred. "I come from the stars through this cable every night to collect lost dreams."
Luna's whiskers trembled with excitement. "Can I help?"
Cosmo's tail swished thoughtfully. "Only if you promise to keep running toward what makes you happy, even when others say it's impossible."
"I promise!" Luna meowed without hesitation.
Together, they scampered up the cable—past clouds, past birds, all the way to the stars! There, they caught hundreds of lost wishes in butterfly nets and sent them back to children who had stopped believing.
They worked until dawn painted the sky pink, then Cosmo led Luna home.
"Thank you for running after your dream," Cosmo whispered. "That's what makes magic real."
From that day on, Luna wasn't just any cat. She became the guardian of dreams, the friend of stars, and the bravest dreamer in the neighborhood. And every night, she'd curl up by the cable, knowing that somewhere up there, a tiny star kitten was waiting to remind her: the most wonderful adventures always begin with being brave enough to believe.
