Lily's Water Bull Friend
Lily had the most curious hair anyone had ever seen. When she was happy, it shimmered like golden sunshine. When she was sad, it turned the softest blue. And when she was excited—which she often was—it burst into brilliant rainbow curls that bounced around her face like playful springs.
One sunny afternoon, Lily followed a babbling brook into the forest. The water whispered secrets over smooth stones, calling her deeper among the ancient trees. There, in a sun-dappled clearing, she found the most unusual creature.
A bull stood by the water's edge, but not like any bull from the farm. His coat was the color of river reeds, his horns gleamed like polished pearls, and instead of hooves, he had gentle webbed feet perfect for swimming. When he turned to look at Lily, his eyes were warm and kind, like chocolate pudding.
"Hello," Lily whispered, her hair turning a curious shade of lavender.
"Hello, little one," replied the bull. His voice rumbled like distant thunder, but soft and friendly. "I'm Oliver. I'm a water bull, you see. I live in this magical stream."
Lily had never heard of a water bull before! Oliver explained that he was the guardian of the forest waters, making sure the streams stayed clean and clear for all the forest creatures. In return, the animals were his friends.
"Would you like to see my home?" Oliver asked.
Lily nodded eagerly, and to her surprise, Oliver lowered himself into the water. "Hop on my back! Hold onto my horns, and don't worry—water bulls never let their friends fall."
Lily climbed onto Oliver's broad, warm back. With a gentle splash, they were gliding through the water! Through the ripples, Lily saw an enchanted world beneath the surface: fish that sang tiny melodies, turtles that told ancient stories, and plants that glowed with soft light.
"This is wonderful!" Lily cried, her hair turning brilliant pink with joy.
As they swam, Oliver told Lily something important: "You know, your magical hair is beautiful, but what makes you truly special is your kind heart. That's why we're friends."
Lily smiled, understanding now that true friendship wasn't about how you looked—it was about who you were inside.
Every day after that, Lily visited Oliver by the water. And whenever she splashed into the stream with her water bull friend, her hair didn't just change colors—it sparkled with the magic of true friendship.
