Lily's Golden Riddle

Lily was the only girl in the village with curly orange hair that glowed like tiny flames when she was happy. The other children had brown or black or yellow hair, but Lily's hair was special—it changed colors with her feelings!

One day, Lily wandered too far into the desert while chasing a beautiful butterfly. The sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of purple and pink. Suddenly, she saw something amazing—a giant stone sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a wise woman.

"Hello, little one," the sphinx spoke, her voice sounding like wind through ancient temples. "I am Cleo, and I have been waiting for someone with hair like sunrise."

Lily's orange hair shimmered with excitement. "You can talk?"

"I can do many things," Cleo smiled. "But first, you must solve my riddle: What is something you can give away but still keep?"

Lily thought hard. She remembered when she shared her favorite orange with her sad friend Mia—her happiness had grown, not disappeared. When she helped her little brother learn to tie his shoes, she felt proud inside.

"A smile!" Lily exclaimed. "Or love! Or kindness!"

Cleo's stone eyes sparkled. "You are wise beyond your years, child. Your orange hair isn't just pretty—it shows the fire of kindness in your heart."

The sphinx pressed a tiny orange stone into Lily's hand. "This will remind you: true magic isn't in spells or potions. It's in the love you share freely with others."

That night, Lily's hair glowed brighter than ever before. She learned that the best magic in the world wasn't about changing colors or solving riddles—it was about opening your heart to others. And every time she shared kindness, her orange hair sparkled a little more, reminding everyone that the most beautiful things in life are the ones we give away.
