Lily's Enchanted Orange Discovery
Lily sat cross-legged on her bedroom floor, staring at her dad's old iphone. The screen was cracked, but somehow it still worked. She tapped the glass, watching colorful apps flash like tiny doorways.
"I wish something magical would happen," she whispered, turning the phone over and over in her hands.
Suddenly, a warm orange glow pulsed from the screen! Lily gasped as little orange bubbles floated out, smelling like sunshine and sweet citrus. One bubble popped near her nose, and a tiny creature with butterfly wings zipped out.
"Finally!" squeaked the tiny fairy, no bigger than a strawberry. "I've been trapped in that phone for weeks! I'm Zest, and you've just saved me!"
Lily's eyes widened. "A fairy? In an iphone?"
Zest did a happy flip in the air. "Your dad must have left the phone in the orange grove last summer! That's where I was collecting vitamin magic—the most powerful magic in the world!"
The fairy's wings shimmered between orange and gold. "Vitamin magic is what keeps all the trees growing, all the flowers blooming! I was supposed to bring it back to Fairy Valley, but I got stuck. Now I can't find my way home!"
Lily's heart raced. An adventure! "I can help!"
Zest handed her a glowing orange petal. "Take this. It will show you the way. Just follow wherever the vitamin magic shines brightest!"
That afternoon, Lily and Zest followed the glowing petal through her backyard, past the apple trees, and into the tiny patch of woods behind her house. There, hidden beneath ancient oaks, was a secret garden where fireflies danced and flowers hummed with magic.
Fairy Valley!
Hundreds of fairies swarmed around Zest, celebrating his return. Their queen, a majestic fairy with amber wings, touched Lily's nose with her wand.
"You saved our harvest of vitamin magic," she said. "For that, we grant you one wish."
Lily thought carefully. She could wish for anything—treasure, magic powers, even a new phone. But she remembered how Zest had said vitamin magic kept everything growing.
"I wish..." Lily smiled, "that every time someone eats an orange, they feel a little bit of fairy magic too."
The queen beamed. "Granted."
From that day on, whenever Lily peeled an orange and tasted its sweet juice, she felt a tiny flutter of wings in her heart. And sometimes, if she looked closely, she could see little orange sparkles dancing in the sunlight—fairies, spreading their vitamin magic to the world.
