Lily and the Water Bull

Lily was seven years old and loved exploring. One sunny afternoon, she walked beside the babbling stream behind her house. The crystal clear water flowed smoothly over smooth stones, creating tiny waterfalls that laughed and played. Birds chirped happily in the ancient oak trees, and dragonflies danced like tiny glittering jewels in the warm summer air.

Something shiny caught Lily's eye. Buried in the soft mud near the water's edge lay an old iphone. Its screen was cracked, but it still held a certain kind of mystery. Lily picked it up carefully and wondered what secrets it might hold.

Curious and eager, she pressed the buttons, but the screen remained dark and silent. Disappointed but not discouraged, Lily leaned over the stream to wash the mud off the mysterious device.

Suddenly, her foot slipped on a mossy stone, and the iphone tumbled from her hands into the rushing water. Lily gasped and reached in, but before her fingers could touch it, the water began to glow with a soft blue light.

From the depths of the stream rose the most magnificent creature Lily had ever seen — a bull made entirely of water, with a mane that flowed like liquid silver and eyes that sparkled like summer sunshine.

"You dropped something important," the water bull said, his voice sounding like a gentle waterfall.

Lily stared in wonder. "You can talk!"

The water bull smiled, and ripples spread across his face like laughter. "I am the guardian of this stream. I wake when someone lets go of something they think they need."

The bull nudged the iphone toward the bank with his wet nose. "But you don't really need this, do you?"

Lily looked at the cracked screen, then at the magical water creature before her. She thought about all the hours she spent watching videos and playing games on screens, how she missed the real magic happening right outside her window.

"You're right," Lily whispered, watching a butterfly land on a nearby wildflower. "I have much better adventures right here."

The water bull nodded his massive head, and his form began to shimmer and dissolve into sparkling droplets that rejoined the stream. "Remember, little one — the best magic isn't found on screens. It's in the water that flows, the earth beneath your feet, and the friends you meet along the way."

As the last of the water bull disappeared beneath the surface, the iphone began to glow one last time, then dimmed forever. Lily smiled and picked up a smooth stone instead, skipping it across the water. Each skip sent up tiny splashes that danced in the sunlight, and somewhere in the ripples, she thought she saw the water bull wink.

That day, Lily learned that real adventure waits outside, not on screens.
