Lily and the Magic Pool

Lily sat by the pool, dipping her toes in the cool blue water. It was a hot summer day, and everyone else was swimming. But Lily was too scared to jump in.

She pulled out her iPhone, ready to watch videos instead. But as she aimed the camera at the sparkling water, something amazing happened. The screen didn't just show the pool — it showed tiny mermaids swimming beneath the surface!

Lily gasped. The mermaids were smaller than her thumb, with shimmering tails that sparkled like rainbow glitter. One mermaid with silver hair popped up to the surface and waved.

"Hello!" the little mermaid sang. "I'm Marina! Come swim with us!"

"I can't," Lily whispered. "I'm afraid."

"But look!" Marina said. "The water holds you up like a gentle hug. It's magic water that wants to be your friend."

Lily's iPhone screen showed the mermaids dancing in circles, creating beautiful patterns in the water. They looked so happy, so free.

"Your phone shows you the truth," Marina said wisely. "The pool isn't scary — it's full of friends and fun. But you have to trust the water to discover its magic."

Lily looked at her iPhone one more time, then at the real pool. Maybe magic could be real if she was brave enough to believe.

She set down her iPhone, took a deep breath, and jumped!

Splash!

The water DID feel like a gentle hug! And when she looked down, she saw tiny ripples that looked just like mermaid tails. Lily laughed and splashed, realizing that sometimes the most wonderful magic is simply being brave enough to try something new.

That day, Lily learned that courage doesn't mean you're not scared — it means you're brave enough to try anyway. And the best part? Now she always checks the pool with her iPhone first, just to see if Marina and her friends are ready to play.
