Lily and the Lightning Game
Lily had the most wild and curly **hair** in her whole school. It bounced when she walked and danced when she ran, which was perfect because Lily loved running—especially across the **padel** court where she played every Saturday.
One stormy afternoon, Lily was eating her orange **vitamin** gummy when something strange happened. A bolt of **lightning** flashed outside her window, so bright it made her squint. But when she opened her eyes, her vitamin gummy was glowing golden!
Lily popped it into her mouth anyway. Suddenly, she felt lighter than air. When she jumped off her bed, she didn't fall down—she floated up!
"Wow!" she gasped, doing a little backflip mid-air. It felt just like **swimming**, but through nothing at all. She could paddle and kick and glide through the air as if it were water.
Outside, Lily saw something scary. Her neighbor's kitten, Mittens, was stuck in a tree, meowing sadly as rain started to fall. The lightning was getting closer.
Lily knew what to do. She swam through the air right up to the highest branch, her curly hair streaming behind her like a golden banner. She scooped up Mittens and glided back down safely.
Her neighbor was amazed. "How did you do that?" she asked.
Lily touched her wild curls and smiled. "Sometimes the best things about us—like my crazy hair—turn out to be exactly what we need to help others."
From that day on, Lily's hair still bounced and danced, but now she knew it was part of what made her special. And every time it stormed, she kept an eye out for anyone who might need a friend who could swim through the sky.
