Lily and the Bear's Secret
Lily sat beneath the old oak tree, tapping on her iPhone. Mom said she was playing too many games, but Lily loved exploring the magical apps she'd found—apps that sparkled with tiny stars and made gentle humming sounds.
One afternoon, her screen flashed with colors she'd never seen before. A forest appeared—no, not just a picture, but a REAL forest! Through the iPhone's glass, Lily saw a bear cub sitting alone, looking sad and frightened.
"Hello?" Lily whispered, pressing her finger to the screen.
The bear cub's ears perked up! It could hear her!
"I'm Benny," said the bear in a soft, rumbly voice. "I'm lost. My family went to find honey for winter, but I followed a butterfly and got separated. Now I can't find them."
Lily's heart squeezed tight. "I'll help you, Benny! But how?"
"Follow the silver butterflies," the bear said. "They only show themselves to true friends."
Lily looked up from her iPhone. Sure enough, silver butterflies were dancing around the oak tree, leading into the nearby forest. She grabbed her backpack and followed them, her iPhone lighting the way like a magical lantern.
The silver butterflies led her deeper into the woods than she'd ever gone before. There, by a sparkling stream, she found Benny—and his family! The mama bear was calling his name, and two cubs were tumbling in the moss.
"Benny!" Lily shouted, and the little bear cub ran to her, nuzzling her hand with his soft, fuzzy nose. The mama bear approached slowly, and Lily stood perfectly still, remembering what Grandpa had taught her: wild animals deserve respect and gentleness.
The mama bear bowed her head, and Lily knew she was saying thank you.
"Anytime," Lily whispered. "Friends help friends."
That night, Lily's iPhone showed one more magical thing: a tiny bear paw print glowing on the screen, a reminder that somewhere in the forest, a bear cub was safe—and that friendship could be found in the most unexpected places, even through the glass of a phone screen.
