Leo and the Courage Bull
Leo loved baseball more than anything, but he was afraid of the ball. Every time it zoomed toward him, he ducked. His team, the Sunrays, needed him to step up to the plate, but his knees shook like jelly.
One afternoon, while sitting beneath the old palm tree behind the playground, Leo discovered something surprising. A tiny bull, no bigger than his thumb, sat on a fallen palm frond, wearing a miniature baseball cap.
"Hello, Leo!" said the bull. "I'm Bruno. I've been watching you play."
Leo rubbed his eyes. "You can talk?"
"I can do more than talk," Bruno said with a wink. "I have something special for you." The little bull reached into his tiny pocket and pulled out a sparkling orange tablet. "This is a courage vitamin. One bite, and you'll believe in yourself."
Leo hesitated. "Magic vitamins aren't real."
"Neither are talking bulls," Bruno grinned, "yet here I am!"
Leo took the vitamin. It tasted like sunshine and determination. Suddenly, he stood taller. His fear didn't disappear completely, but it felt smaller—manageable, like a puzzle he could solve.
"Remember," Bruno said, "courage isn't about not being scared. It's about being scared and doing it anyway."
The next day, Leo stepped up to the plate. The baseball pitched toward him, fast and wild. His heart pounded, but he didn't duck. He swung with all his might, and *CRACK!* The ball soared over the palm tree and into the clouds.
His teammates cheered. Leo looked at his palm, where Bruno now sat, dozing in his tiny baseball cap. He smiled, knowing the real magic hadn't been the vitamin at all—it had been inside him all along, just waiting for someone to help him see it.
From that day on, Leo wasn't just a baseball player. He was someone who believed in himself, and that made all the difference.
