Green Smoothie Betrayal

Maya stared at the lunch table where Jasmine held court, her perfectly curated Instagram life playing out in real time. Jasmine's latest obsession was her wellness journey—posturing about organic everything and holistic living while simultaneously freaking out about AP Bio.

"You gotta try this smoothie, Maya!" Jasmine announced, sliding a murky green concoction across the table. "It's got spinach, kale, spirulina... literally everything your body needs."

Maya hesitated. The smoothie looked like something that had died in a blender. But Noah, sitting across from her and looking unfairly cute in his thrifted hoodie, was watching.

"I bet she won't do it," Noah said, grinning.

"Watch me," Maya replied, grabbing the cup. She took a massive gulp and immediately regretted every life choice that led to this moment. It tasted like liquid lawn.

"That's not all!" Jasmine pulled out a wedge of papaya from her fancy bento box. "Exotic fruits are literally packed with enzymes that—"

"That help you manifest your dream life?" Maya cracked, feeling her stomach churn.

"Actually," Noah said, "papaya's got vitamin C and stuff. But mostly it just tastes... weird."

Maya's stomach did a violent flip-flop. The spinach-papaya combo was not vibing. She needed to escape before this wellness experiment turned into a disaster.

"I'll be right back," she mumbled, bolting for the bathroom.

The reflection in the mirror showed her with green smoothie mustache. So embarrassing. But then—LIGHTNING. A thought struck her like actual lightning, sudden and brilliant. Why was she trying so hard to fit into Jasmine's curated world when Noah had been making fun of it the whole time? When *she* thought it was ridiculous too?

She washed her face, realigning with her actual personality. Sometimes the biggest vitamin boost you can get is just being yourself, even if that means rejecting perfectly good peer pressure.

Back at the table, Maya found Jasmine pontificating about gut health.

"You know what?" Maya announced, sliding back into her seat. "That smoothie was gross. And I'd rather have pizza."

Noah high-fived her. "Finally. I was waiting for you to say that."

Maya smiled. Some things were worth the stomachache. Most things weren't. Being real? Always worth it.
