Goldie's Magical Lightning Night

Leo loved his pet goldfish Goldie more than anything. Every day after school, he'd sprinkle fish food into the bowl and watch Goldie's orange scales sparkle like tiny swimming stars.

One stormy evening, while Leo practiced padel against the garage wall with his old wooden racket, the sky turned dark purple. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy. Suddenly—CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck so close that Leo's hair stood straight up!

When he ran inside, something amazing happened. Goldie was floating OUTSIDE her bowl! And not just floating—flying! The lightning had given her magical powers.

"Leo!" Goldie squeaked in a tiny voice. "The lightning magic woke up your toys too!"

Sure enough, Leo's stuffed bull was trotting across the floor like a real cow, and his Halloween zombie doll was doing a silly dance. But instead of being scary, the zombie smiled and waved.

"Want to play padel?" the zombie asked cheerfully. "I bet I can beat you!"

They all went outside—Leo, the flying goldfish, the dancing zombie, and the trotting bull. The rain had stopped, and the moon lit up the padel court. They played the most wonderful game ever. The zombie was surprisingly good at volleys, the bull chased every ball, and Goldie used her magic to make the ball glow different colors.

They played until Leo's mom called him for bedtime. As the magical toys returned to their places and Goldie swam back into her bowl, Leo realized something wonderful.

"You know," Leo whispered to Goldie, "having friends who are different makes everything more fun. Even zombies and bulls and flying fish."

Goldie blew a bubble that shaped itself into a heart. "That's the best kind of magic, Leo. The magic of friendship."

That night, Leo dreamed of lightning, padel games, and the most extraordinary friends anyone could ever have. And every storm after that, he wondered what other magic might be waiting to wake up.
