Flash of Friendship

Once there was a lonely little storm cloud named Nimbus who floated high above the ocean. Nimbus had lots of rain inside him, but no one to share it with. All the other clouds were busy making rain for forests and gardens, but Nimbus wanted something special.

Down below, the ocean waves sparkled and danced. Nimbus loved watching them — all that beautiful **water** looked so happy together. They played tag with the sunbeams and sang songs to the shore.

"Hello down there!" Nimbus called one day. But his voice was just a soft rumble, and the waves couldn't hear him.

Nimbus felt so lonely that his gray fluff turned darker and darker. He wanted to **friend** the waves so badly, but clouds and oceans never talked. They were too far apart.

Then something magical happened. Nimbus's loneliness built up inside him until — ZAP! A bolt of **lightning** flashed from his belly, brilliant and purple and shimmering. It crackled all the way down to the sea.

The waves gasped. "Did you see that?" they whispered. "Someone up there is trying to say hello!"

Nimbus was surprised. His lightning had made the waves notice him! So he tried again — FLASH! Another purple bolt danced toward the water.

This time, a brave little wave jumped up to meet it. The lightning and the water touched, just for a moment, and something wonderful happened. They glowed together, brighter than stars.

The little wave spun with joy. "We're friends now!" it called up. "Come down and play!"

Nimbus couldn't believe it. His special lightning had helped him make a friend. He sent gentle rain down, and the waves caught each droplet like a precious treasure.

From that day on, Nimbus was never lonely. Every time he visited the ocean, he'd send a little flash of lightning — their secret friendship signal. And the waves would always dance extra bright, just for him.

Nimbus learned that even when something seems impossible, there's always a way to connect. Sometimes you just need a spark of courage to bridge the distance between hearts.
