Finley's Lightning Magic
Finley was no ordinary goldfish. He lived in a sparkling blue pool behind Lily's house, and every day, the little girl would visit him. "Hello, Finley!" she'd say, sprinkling fish food into the water. Finley would swim up to the surface, his orange scales shining in the sunlight.
One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. Raindrops began to fall, making little splashes across the pool's surface. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed through the sky, striking a tree near the pool. Something magical happened — a tiny spark from the lightning landed right in the water beside Finley!
Instead of hurting him, the spark made Finley glow with a warm, golden light. He felt a strange tingle, as if he had been given a special gift. Finley discovered he could now understand the wishes of everyone who looked into the pool!
The next day, Lily came to the pool looking sad. "I wish my grandmother could visit," she whispered. Finley swam to the surface and made a little splash. That evening, Lily's grandmother called to say she was coming for a surprise visit!
But Finley's magic only worked when wishes came from the heart. When a selfish boy wanted to catch all the fish in the pool, nothing happened. Finley learned that his lightning-given power was meant to spread joy and kindness.
Every time someone made a selfless wish, Finley's scales would sparkle like tiny stars. He helped children find lost toys, made lonely kids meet new friends, and even helped a sad puppy find its way home.
Finley realized that the best kind of magic wasn't in the lightning at all — it was in the kindness of wishes that helped others. And from that day on, every splash in the pool reminded everyone that the greatest wishes are the ones we make for each other.
