Fern's Magical Midnight Pool
Fern was a small fox with very big ears and an even bigger curiosity. She lived in the Whispering Woods, where trees told secrets and fireflies danced like tiny stars. But Fern had a secret fear. She was terrified of storms.
One rainy night, while her family slept cozily in their den, a brilliant flash of **lightning** split the sky. BOOM! Thunder shook the ground beneath Fern's paws. She trembled, watching raindrops race down her nose. But then she saw something strange—a soft purple glow emanating from behind Willow Ridge.
Against every instinct, Fern crept forward. Her paws squished in the mud as she found herself **running** toward the mysterious light, her heart pounding like a tiny drum.
There, in a secret clearing, she discovered it: a shimmering **pool** formed where the lightning had struck. But this wasn't ordinary water. The pool pulsed with iridescent colors—pink, gold, and swirling blue—and floating atop were glowing droplets that looked like liquid moonbeams.
Beside the pool sat a trembling baby bunny, separated from his family by the storm.
"Are those..." Fern whispered, amazed.
A wise old turtle emerged from nearby ferns. "Storm **vitamins**," she rumbled softly. "The lightning leaves them behind. One sip gives courage to any heart that needs it."
Fern looked at the scared bunny, then at the magical pool. Something stirred inside her—something warm and brave. She dipped her paw carefully, catching a glowing droplet, and offered it to the bunny. As he lapped it up, his trembling stopped. His eyes widened with wonder.
Then Fern took one too. Instantly, she felt sunshine fill her chest, even as rain poured around them. The storm wasn't scary anymore—it was magnificent! The lightning painted the sky with beauty, and the thunder was just the clouds applauding.
Together, Fern guided the bunny through the storm, their new courage glowing like lanterns in their hearts. When they reached his family, the bunny's mother thanked Fern with tears in her eyes.
That night, Fern learned something magical: sometimes the things we fear most hold the most wonderful surprises. And the bravest creatures aren't those who never feel fear—they're the ones who face it to help others.
From then on, whenever storms came, Fern's ears would perk up. She knew the lightning wasn't just noise and flashes. It was the sky leaving behind little bottles of courage, just waiting for someone to need them.
