Emma's Magical Running Discovery
Emma loved running more than anything. Every morning, she would race through her backyard, her sneakers pounding against the grass while she imagined she was flying through the clouds. But today, Emma felt slow. Her legs felt heavy, and even her favorite shortcut through the park seemed longer than usual.
"What's wrong with me?" Emma wondered, sitting on a bench to catch her breath.
That's when she noticed something sparkle in the grass beside her. It was a tiny, glowing bottle filled with rainbow-colored vitamins. A small tag read: *Magic Running Vitamins – One gives you the speed of a cheetah, Two gives you the power of the wind.*
Emma's eyes widened. Could this be real? Just then, her big brother Leo jogged past, his iPhone clutched in his hand as he tracked his run.
"Leo! Look!" Emma called, showing him the sparkly bottle.
Leo stopped and examined the bottle. "That looks like something from a fairy tale, Em. But remember what Mom says – magic isn't about making things easy. It's about discovering what's already inside you."
Emma frowned. But these vitamins could make her the fastest runner ever! She could finally beat the school champion, Sarah, in the big race next week.
That night, Emma kept the vitamins on her nightstand. She stared at them for a long time. Then she thought about what Leo said. Was the magic already inside her?
The next morning, Emma woke up before anyone else. She slipped on her running shoes and tiptoed outside. The grass was still wet with morning dew, and the sun was just peeking over the trees.
Emma started running without the magic vitamins. At first, she felt tired. But then she remembered her dad's words: *The magic vitamin is believing in yourself and never giving up.*
She thought of all the times she had practiced. She remembered how far she had come since last year. Emma pushed harder, her legs finding their rhythm. The wind rushed past her ears, and suddenly, she wasn't just running – she was flying!
Emma realized that she had found the real magic all along. It wasn't in a bottle. It was in her heart, in her determination, and in the joy of running itself.
When Emma finally stopped, breathless and happy, she knew she was ready for the race. Not because of magic vitamins, but because she had discovered something even more powerful: the magic of believing in herself.
