Emma and the Orange Pyramid

Emma loved storms. When the first flash of lightning cracked across the sky, she pressed her nose against the window, watching nature's fireworks paint the darkness. That night, something magical happened.

A single lightning bolt struck her backyard with a soft puff, not a crash. When Emma rushed outside, she found a glowing orange pyramid where the bolt had landed. It hummed with warmth and smelled like sunshine.

"What are you?" Emma whispered, touching its smooth surface.

A tiny voice answered, "I'm the Pyramid of Kindness. I need your help."

A thick golden cable stretched from the pyramid into the dark woods. The voice explained that each year, the pyramid traveled here to make friendship vitamins for lonely children. But the cable had snagged on a thorny bush, and the magic couldn't flow.

Emma grabbed her flashlight and followed the cable into the forest. Her heart pounded as she tangled with prickly branches, but she kept going. Finally, she found the problem: a storm-loosened branch had trapped the golden cable against a rock.

With all her might, Emma pushed the branch aside. The cable sprang free, glowing brighter than ever.

"Thank you!" the pyramid cheered. Suddenly, hundreds of tiny orange pills rose from its surface, floating like glowing fireflies. They weren't medicine vitamins—they were friendship vitamins, each one holding a wish for a new friend.

Emma watched them soar into the night, traveling to children everywhere who needed a friend. The pyramid began to fade.

"Will I see you again?" Emma called.

"Whenever kindness is needed," the voice whispered. "And whenever lightning strikes, remember: the real magic isn't in the flash—it's in the heart that chooses to help."

The next morning, Emma's yard looked normal again. But she noticed something new: a tiny orange crystal pyramid on her windowsill, catching the morning sun. She smiled, knowing that real magic wasn't about what you found, but what you chose to give.

And whenever storms came, Emma would watch the lightning and remember: kindness was the brightest light of all.
