Cleo and the Golden Pyramid

Cleo was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice and napped in sunbeams, Cleo dreamed of adventures.

One morning, something extraordinary appeared in Cleo's backyard. A golden pyramid stood where the old oak tree had been. Its sides shimmered like morning dew, and when Cleo crept closer, she heard it humming a soft melody.

Cleo circled the pyramid three times—cats always do things in threes for good luck. Then, with a brave little hop, she slipped through a doorway that suddenly appeared.

Inside, everything was amazing! The walls sparkled with tiny stars that danced when Cleo waved her paw. A gentle voice echoed, "Welcome, Cleo. I've been waiting for you."

A small palm tree grew right in the center of the room. Its leaves glowed with soft green light, and coconuts made of crystal hung from its branches. An orange lizard with bright purple spots sat on one of the palm leaves.

"I'm Pickles!" the lizard said. "I'm the keeper of the Wishing Pyramid. But I'm lonely here by myself. Will you be my friend?"

Cleo purred loudly and rubbed her head against Pickles's scaly chin. Friends were the best treasures of all.

"Make a wish," Pickles said. "But remember—the best wishes are for others, not yourself."

Cleo thought carefully. She wished for all the lonely cats in the world to find warm homes and loving families. The pyramid glowed brighter than ever, sending golden sparkles floating up through its point and out into the sky like tiny shooting stars.

"Thank you, Cleo," Pickles said. "Your heart is as golden as this pyramid. Visit me anytime."

When Cleo stepped back outside, the pyramid had vanished. But in its place grew a small palm tree with crystal coconuts, and whenever Cleo visited it, Pickles would appear to share adventures and wishes.

Cleo learned that day that magic is real, but friendship is the greatest magic of all.
