Chlorine Secrets

baseballvitaminspyswimming

Maya's life was divided into two worlds: the **baseball** field where everyone worshipped her older brother Ryan, and the **swimming** pool where she was invisible.

Or at least, she thought she was invisible.

"You're basically a **spy**," Jenna whispered between laps at practice. "I saw you watching the baseball team from behind the bleachers yesterday. Again."

Maya's face burned. "I was NOT watching. I was just... waiting for my ride."

"Mhm. That's why you brought those nasty gummy **vitamins**?" Jenna gestured to Maya's bag. "Since when do you take supplements?"

Since Ryan's teammate Tyler had mentioned looking for girls who were "health conscious." Maya was pathetic.

That night, Maya sat on her roof, staring at the field where Ryan's team practiced. She was the weird swimmer girl who lurked behind the fences, taking vitamins for a boy who didn't know she existed. How had she become this person?

Her phone buzzed. An unknown number: *"I saw you watching practice today. Nice form behind the bleachers. Very stealth."*

Maya's stomach dropped.

*"Who is this?"*

*"Tyler. Ryan mentioned his sister watches sometimes. I was wondering if you'd want to, like, actually talk sometime? Instead of spying from the bushes?"*

Maya nearly dropped her phone. Then she typed back: *"I wasn't spying. And those vitamins? For my dog. Not trying to impress anyone."*

*Lol. Good to know. Want to get smoothies after your meet tomorrow? I'll be the one NOT hiding behind the bleachers."*

Maya deleted the vitamin gummies. And maybe she'd been.spying, but at least someone had finally noticed.
