Buster's Stormy Adventure
Buster was a small golden dog with one very big dream: he wanted to play baseball. Every afternoon, he trotted to the park where the children played, his tail wagging hopefully. But they always said the same thing—"Sorry, Buster. Dogs can't play baseball."
One cloudy afternoon, Buster lay near the old oak tree, watching dark clouds gather overhead. That's when he heard a loud snort. Behind the tree stood the biggest bull he'd ever seen, with horns like crescent moons and eyes that sparkled like stars.
"I'm Barnaby," the bull rumbled gently. "I know somewhere you CAN play baseball."
Buster's ears perked up. "Where?"
"Follow me!" Barnaby trotted toward the meadow as the first raindrops fell.
Suddenly, the sky lit up with brilliant lightning! But this wasn't ordinary lightning—it was purple and pink, dancing across the clouds like rainbow ribbons. Each bolt struck the ground and left behind glowing baseballs!
"Try one!" Barnaby called.
Buster grabbed a glowing ball in his mouth. It tingled with magical energy. When he dropped it, the ball hovered in midair!
"Throw it!" Barnaby said.
Buster nudged the ball with his nose, and WHOOSH—it sailed through the air, leaving a trail of sparkles. The bull hit it with his horn, and CRACK! The ball zoomed toward a pond at the edge of the meadow.
"We need to get it!" Buster cried.
Without hesitating, both dog and bull leaped into the water. But this was no ordinary swimming—the magical pond made them FLOAT like balloons! They kicked and paddled through the air above the water, laughing as they chased the glowing baseball.
"You're a natural!" Barnaby cheered as Buster caught the ball in his teeth.
The other children from the park had gathered at the edge of the pond, watching in wonder. "That was amazing!" one girl shouted. "Can we play too?"
Buster's heart swelled with happiness. He'd found a way to play baseball after all—in a magical game where everyone belonged, even a small dog with big dreams.
And every stormy day after that, whenever the purple lightning danced across the sky, you could find Buster, Barnaby, and all their friends swimming through the air above the magical pond, playing the most wonderful game in the world.
