Buster and the Sun Vitamins

Luna's golden retriever, Buster, had a secret. Every night at midnight, he would tap his paw three times on Luna's window frame. Tap, tap, tap.

One Tuesday, Luna finally opened the window. Buster's eyes sparkled like tiny stars. "Come with me," he seemed to say, nudging her hand with his wet nose.

To Luna's surprise, Buster leaped into the air—and didn't come down. Instead, he began swimming through the sky, paddling gracefully through the moonlight as if it were water.

"Wait for me!" Luna cried. She climbed onto the windowsill and jumped.

Suddenly, she was swimming too. The night air felt cool and silky against her skin. Stars twinkled like friendly fish all around her. Above them, a fluffy cloud kingdom glowed with rainbow colors.

Buster led Luna to a worried cloud named Nimbus. "Our cloud kingdom is turning gray!" Nimbus floated sadly. "We need sun vitamins to stay fluffy and white, but the sun is too far away."

Luna had an idea. "Buster and I can help!"

Hand in paw, they swam upward, past constellations and comets. Luna's arms grew tired, but Buster licked her cheek, giving her strength. Finally, they reached the edge of the sunrise, where golden orbs floated like bubbles—sun vitamins!

They gathered as many as they could carry in their shirts. The sun vitamins hummed with warmth, like holding tiny pieces of summer.

When they returned to Cloud Kingdom, Nimbus and the other clouds cheered. They swallowed the sun vitamins and instantly puffed up brilliant white again, soft as cotton candy.

"Thank you, friends!" Nimbus cried. "You saved our home!"

Buster and Luna swam back through the dawn, arriving just as Luna's alarm clock rang. Buster curled up on her rug, looking like an ordinary dog again. But Luna knew better. She scratched behind his ears and whispered, "Same time tomorrow?"

Buster's tail thumped three times against the floor. Tap, tap, tap.

And Luna knew that some adventures are just beginning when everyone else thinks the day has started.
