Bruno's Magical Midsummer Night
Bruno was a bull like no other. While other bulls snorted and stomped and chased cowboys, Bruno loved watching butterflies dance in the meadow. His dream was to make friends, but everyone was afraid of his giant horns and thunderous hooves.
One starry night, Bruno heard a tiny yap. A spotted puppy with one flopped ear tumbled out of the bushes. 'I'm Daisy!' she yipped. 'Want to play?' Bruno's heart soared. For the first time, someone wasn't scared!
'Follow me!' Daisy chirped, and they went running through the moonlit fields. Her paws pitter-pattered while Bruno trotted softly beside her. They stumbled upon a hidden pond glowing with fireflies.
'It's a magic pool!' Daisy squealed. 'Spinach grows here!' Indeed, emerald leaves clustered around the water's edge, shimmering with an otherworldly light. 'My granny said magical spinach grants one wish if you eat it under starlight.'
Bruno nibbled a leaf. Something wonderful tingled through his enormous body. 'I wish,' he whispered, 'to be a friend to everyone.' The water rippled. A shooting star streaked across the sky.
Suddenly, Bruno understood. The magic wasn't in the spinach at all. It was in the courage to be himself and the kindness of a tiny dog who saw past his scary exterior. He didn't need magic to be a good friend — he just needed a heart full of love.
'You're already the best friend ever,' Daisy said, curling up against his warm shoulder. Bruno realized that's what he'd wished for all along.
From that night on, Bruno and Daisy became the most famous friends in the valley. Children would giggle as they watched the gentle bull and his little companion running together at sunset, two hearts beating as one. And sometimes, if you looked closely at that hidden pool, you could still see the magic spinach glowing — waiting for another dreamer to discover its true secret: friendship is the most powerful magic of all.
