Bramble and the Storm Pool
Bramble was a small bear with very big paws and an even bigger fear. While other bears loved the rumble of summer storms, Bramble would hide in the darkest corner of his cave, trembling until the thunder passed.
One evening, as the sky turned deep purple and black, Bramble's mother nudged him gently. "The storm will be beautiful, little one. Just look at the lightning dance across the sky."
Bramble shook his head fiercely. "No, Mama. The lightning is too bright and too loud!"
But as the first flash of lightning streaked across the sky like silver ribbons, Bramble saw something amazing. Behind a cluster of ancient pine trees, there was a glowing pool he had never noticed before. The water shimmered with a strange blue light that pulsed with each lightning flash.
Drawn by curiosity, Bramble crept closer. The pool's surface was smooth as glass, but what made him gasp was what he saw reflected there—not the small, scared bear he felt like inside, but a brave warrior bear standing tall and proud.
"That's me?" Bramble whispered, eyes wide.
The pool's magic rippled, and in that moment, Bramble understood. The lightning wasn't something to fear. It was nature's way of painting the sky with light. Each flash was like a brushstroke of courage, showing him that even the smallest bear could find bravery inside.
His mother appeared beside him, her warm fur pressing against his side. "You see, little one? True courage isn't about never being afraid. It's about looking at what scares you and finding the wonder in it instead."
Bramble watched the storm unfold, no longer hiding. He saw the lightning as magic, not something to run from. And in that glowing pool, he discovered his own reflection of bravery.
From that night on, whenever storms rumbled across the forest, Bramble would visit his special pool. He learned that sometimes the most frightening things can become the most beautiful—especially when you have the courage to really see them.
