Bernie's Splash Adventure

Bernie was a curious little bear with fluffy brown fur and twitchy ears. Every morning, his mother brought him fresh spinach leaves from the garden. 'These are magic leaves,' she'd say. 'They'll make you strong!' Bernie would wrinkle his nose. Spinach wasn't his favorite.

One sunny day, Bernie met Barnaby, a friendly bull who lived by the sparkling river. Barnaby was doing something Bernie had never seen before — swimming! The bull splashed and dove, creating rainbows in the water.

'Want to join me?' Barnaby called. Bernie shook his head. 'I don't know how.'

Barnaby smiled. 'Neither did I! But my grandmother says every swim starts with a single splash.' Bernie stepped closer. The water looked magical, shimmering like liquid sunshine.

'What if I sink?' Bernie asked.

'Then I'll help you float,' Barnaby promised. 'That's what friends do.' Bernie's heart felt warm. He remembered his mother's words about spinach giving him strength. Maybe she was right about magic things.

Bernie dipped one paw in the water. Then another. Soon, he was splashing beside Barnaby! The water felt like a big, friendly hug. Bernie discovered he loved swimming!

'You're a natural!' cheered Barnaby. 'You know what else helps you swim strong? Vitamins! They're like tiny superheroes inside you, making your muscles work.' Bernie's eyes widened. 'Like the magic in spinach?' he asked.

'Exactly!' Barnaby nodded. 'That's why your mother gives it to you.' Bernie swam all afternoon, feeling stronger with every stroke.

That evening, Bernie ate his spinach without wrinkling his nose. 'Thank you for the magic leaves,' he told his mother. She smiled, surprised but pleased.

Bernie had learned two important lessons: trying new things can be wonderful, and sometimes the things we think we don't like are actually helping us become strong. And the best magic of all? Having a friend who believes in you.
