Benny Bull's Big Baseball Trick
Ten-year-old Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he'd grab his worn glove and dream of hitting the perfect home run. But Leo had a secret: he was afraid of thunderstorms.
One hot afternoon, Leo was alone in the field, pitching his baseball against the old wooden backstop. Clouds gathered overhead, dark and heavy. Leo's heart beat faster.
"Hey there!" a deep voice rumbled.
Leo jumped! Behind him stood the most magnificent bull he'd ever seen. Its fur shimmered like polished copper, and its horns curved like crescent moons.
"I'm Benny," said the bull. "And you've got quite an arm!"
Leo couldn't believe it — a talking bull! Benny explained he was a cloud bull, magical friends with thunder and lightning. Benny had watched Leo practice for weeks and wanted to help.
"You're afraid of storms," Benny said gently. "But lightning isn't scary. It's just nature showing off its power. Want to see something cool?"
Leo nodded, eyes wide.
Benny lowered his magnificent horns. A spark danced between them, growing brighter and brighter. Suddenly, a tiny bolt of lightning leaped from Benny's horns and struck Leo's baseball!
The ball glowed with golden light. When Leo threw it, the baseball crackled with energy, leaving a trail of sparkles. He pitched it faster than ever before!
"Lightning makes everything better," Benny chuckled. "The trick is to dance with it, not run from it."
For an hour, Leo and Benny played catch under the gathering storm. Lightning from real storm clouds began to flash, but Leo didn't cower. He watched in wonder, understanding now that storms were just nature's exciting game.
When thunder finally boomed, Benny winked. "Same time next week, kid?"
"You bet!" Leo called, catching his magical baseball as it dimmed to normal.
Leo walked home in the rain, swinging his glove, no longer afraid. Storms weren't scary — they were just baseball games in the sky, and sometimes, if you were lucky, a magical bull would help you find your courage.
