Bella and the Bull Who Loved Stars

catbullfriend

Bella was a tiny cat with fur as white as clouds and eyes that shone like moonstones. Every night, she would sneak out of her cozy basket and climb to the highest roof in the village, where she could watch the stars dance across the velvet sky.

One evening, as Bella perched on the old stone wall, she heard a deep, rumbling sound coming from the meadow below. It wasn't scary—just sad. Like thunder without the storm.

Curious, Bella crept closer through the tall grass. There, under the silver moonlight, sat the biggest bull she had ever seen. His coat was dark as midnight, and his horns curved like crescent moons. But this bull wasn't sleeping or grazing. He was looking up at the sky with dreamy, golden eyes.

"Hello?" mewed Bella, her voice small but brave.

The bull jumped! His massive hooves thumped against the earth. "Oh! I didn't see you there, little one. I'm Barnaby."

"I'm Bella. Why are you watching the stars?" she asked, sitting beside his giant front leg.

Barnaby sighed, and his breath smelled of clover and sweet grass. "Because they're my friends. Every night, I tell them stories. But they never talk back."

Bella's heart squeezed. "I can talk back!" she purred. "And I love stories too!"

Barnaby's eyes widened. "You'd be my friend? Even though I'm a big, scary bull?"

"You're not scary," Bella said, pressing her tiny head against his massive shoulder. "You're just lonely. Like I was before I found the courage to explore."

And that's how it began. Every night, Bella and Barnaby sat together under the stars. The brave little cat would climb onto the bull's broad back, and together they would make up constellations—a cat chasing a mouse, a bull jumping over the moon, a star shaped like a heart.

One night, Barnaby whispered, "Bella, you're the best friend I've ever had. You taught me that friends come in all sizes."

Bella purred so loudly that Barnaby's whole back vibrated. "And you taught me that even the biggest, strongest hearts need someone to share their dreams with."

From then on, the village animals would see the most amazing sight—a white cat riding on a midnight bull, both of them looking up at the sky with matching starlight in their eyes. Because the best friendships, Bella discovered, are the ones you never expected to find.
