Bear's Magic Pool Friend
Bear loved the pool more than anything. Every night, when the moon shone silver and bright, the teddy bear would slip out of his owner's bedroom and tiptoe to the backyard pool. The water sparkled like diamonds, calling to him with a soft splash-splash sound.
But tonight was different. As Bear approached the pool's edge, he saw something green and lumpy floating in the water. It looked like a zombie! Bear's fur stood up. He had heard stories about zombies – they were scary and grumpy and never wanted to play.
Just as Bear was about to run away, the zombie splashed happily. "Hello, friend! Want to play?" The zombie's voice was not scary at all – it was cheerful and friendly.
Bear blinked in surprise. "You're a zombie. Aren't zombies supposed to be... well... scary?"
The zombie laughed, doing a silly backflip in the water. "That's just what people think! I love water and I love making friends. My name is Z, and I'm the friendliest zombie you'll ever meet!"
Bear stepped closer. The pool's magic seemed to glow around them. "I'm Bear. I was afraid of you."
Z smiled warmly. "That's okay, Bear. Sometimes the things we're afraid of turn out to be the best friends. Would you like to learn how to float?"
Bear nodded, his fear melting away like ice cream on a sunny day. All night long, they played in the magical pool – splashing, racing, and floating under the stars. Bear learned that zombies could be kind, and Z learned that bears could be brave.
As morning approached, they made a pinky promise (well, a pinky claw and green finger promise) to meet again.
"Thank you for teaching me something important," Bear whispered. "I learned that true friends can be found in the most unexpected places, and we should never judge someone by how they look."
The pool rippled with agreement, and Bear knew this was just the beginning of many wonderful adventures with his new friend.
