Bear's Big Splash
Bruno was a small bear with very big dreams. He wanted to swim in the sparkling blue pond behind his house, but he was scared. What if the water was too deep? What if his fur got too heavy?
Every day, Bruno sat at the pond's edge, watching the ripples dance. One morning, something wonderful happened. A large, gentle bull named Barnaby plodded out from the forest.
"Why the long face, little friend?" Barnaby asked, his voice warm like sunshine.
"I want to go swimming," Bruno admitted, "but I'm afraid."
Barnaby smiled. "That's like being scared of papayas because they're sweet. Some things in life feel scary until you try them."
The bull waded into the water. "Look! My heavy body floats like a cloud. Bears can swim too — they're built for it!"
Bruno's eyes widened. "Really?"
"Really!" Barnaby nodded. "I'll stay right beside you."
With trembling paws, Bruno stepped into the cool water. Splash! Then another step. Suddenly, he was paddling! His fur did get heavy, but his body stayed light.
"I'm doing it!" Bruno splashed happily. "I'm swimming!"
They spent the whole afternoon playing in the pond. When they climbed out, exhausted but happy, Barnaby led Bruno to a hidden grove behind the trees.
"For celebration," the bull said, pointing to papaya trees heavy with golden-orange fruit.
They shared the sweetest, juiciest papaya Bruno had ever tasted. As the sun set, painting the sky pink and purple, Bruno realized something important.
"Thank you, Barnaby," he said, wrapping his wet fur around his friend. "You taught me that being brave doesn't mean not being scared. It means trying anyway."
"And you taught me," Barnaby replied, "that even a big bull needs a little friend sometimes."
From that day on, Bruno swam every day. And whenever he saw someone afraid to try something new, he would smile and say, "Let me show you how to float — just like a papaya on water!"
