Barnaby's Underwater Dream

Barnaby was a small brown bear with a very big dream. While other bears slept through the winter, Barnaby lay awake staring at the moon, thinking about the sparkling pool he had discovered deep in the forest.

One magical morning, Barnaby padded softly through the dewy grass until he reached the hidden pool. The water looked like liquid diamonds in the sunlight.

"Hello!" squeaked a tiny voice.

Barnaby peered closer. A beautiful orange goldfish with fins like shimmering silk was swimming near the surface.

"I'm Goldie!" said the fish happily. "Are you here to see the pyramid too?"

"Pyramid?" Barnaby's eyes went wide. "There's a pyramid in this pool?"

"Not just any pyramid!" Goldie did a happy flip. "It's the Crystal Pyramid of Wishes, hidden at the very bottom. But nobody has ever reached it."

Barnaby's heart thumped with excitement. He had never been good at swimming, but he wanted to see that pyramid more than anything.

"I'll try," Barnaby said bravely.

Goldie swam beside him as Barnaby took his first deep breath and slipped into the cool water. Down, down, down they went, through bubbles that tickled Barnaby's nose and past rainbow-colored rocks.

Suddenly, there it was—the Crystal Pyramid of Wishes! It glowed with a soft, magical light, casting sparkles everywhere.

"Touch it and make a wish!" Goldie whispered.

Barnaby closed his eyes and thought carefully. He could wish for honey, or fish, or to be the fastest bear in the forest. But when he imagined Goldie all alone at the bottom of the pool, he knew exactly what to wish for.

"I wish for a friend who will never be lonely again," Barnaby said.

The pyramid blazed with brilliant light. When Barnaby opened his eyes, he could breathe underwater!

"Now I can visit you every day," Barnaby told Goldie.

"And I'll teach you to be the best swimming bear in the whole forest!" Goldie cheered.

From that day on, Barnaby and Goldie had wonderful adventures together. Barnaby learned that the best wishes aren't the ones you make for yourself—they're the ones you make for others.

And somewhere, deep in that magical pool, the Crystal Pyramid still glows, waiting for the next dreamer who understands that true magic is found in friendship.
