Barnaby's Starry Splash
Barnaby was not like other bulls. While his friends spent their days practicing charging and snorting, Barnaby loved swimming in the sparkling creek behind Farmer Green's farm. His huge hooves paddled gracefully through the water, and his horns bobbed like two little islands.
One sunny afternoon, Barnaby discovered something curious near the creek—a golden padel left behind by some visiting campers. It shimmered in the sunlight, and when Barnaby nudged it with his nose, the padel began to glow!
"What a wonderful paddle you have," whispered the padel itself. Barnaby jumped backward, his hooves splashing.
"You can talk?"
"I'm no ordinary padel," it replied. "I'm magical! Take me swimming tonight when the stars come out, and I'll show you something wonderful."
That night, Barnaby carried the glowing padel to the middle of the pond. As he began swimming, the padel created ripples of rainbow light that lifted them higher and higher—right out of the water and into the starry sky!
Barnaby found himself swimming through constellations, his powerful strokes creating trails of sparkles. The padel guided him past the Great Bear constellation, where real bear cubs waved their paws. They visited the Milky Way, which tasted like vanilla ice cream.
"You're different from other bulls, and that's beautiful," the padel said as they swam. "Never be afraid to be yourself."
When dawn approached, Barnaby and his magical friend splashed back into the pond. The padel's glow faded as it returned to being an ordinary racquet, but Barnaby knew better.
The next morning, when the other bulls laughed at Barnaby's bedtime stories about star-swimming, he didn't mind. He knew that being different was the greatest adventure of all. And every night, when no one was watching, Barnaby and his golden padel would go swimming among the stars, making friends with bear constellations and tasting the Milky Way.
Some dreams are too big to stay on the ground—and that's perfectly okay.
