Barnaby's Rainbow Vitamin

Barnaby was a very grumpy bear. His fur was always messy, his eyes were always droopy, and he spent most of his time grumbling at butterflies.

"Go away, sunshine!" he'd growl. "Too bright! Too cheerful!"

One morning, Barnaby stomped to his favorite fishing spot—a crystal-clear pond where the water sparkled like diamonds. But today, something magical happened.

A tiny goldfish named Finn popped his head above the water. His scales shimmered in every color of the rainbow.

"Hello there, grumpy bear!" Finn bubbled happily.

Barnaby frowned. "I'm not grumpy. I'm just... serious."

Finn giggled. "You need something special! My grandmother told me about the Rainbow Vitamin. It's made of three secret ingredients!"

Barnaby's ears perked up. "What's a vitamin?"

"It's something that makes you feel amazing inside!" Finn swam excitedly. "The first ingredient is a morning hug from a friend. The second is sharing something you love. And the third..." Finn paused mysteriously, "is making someone else smile."

Barnaby thought about this all day. By evening, he had an idea. He lumbered back to the pond where Finn was waiting.

"I'm ready for my Rainbow Vitamin," Barnaby said shyly.

Finn beamed. "First, give someone a hug!"

Barnaby gently wrapped his big fuzzy arms around a nearby tree. The tree's leaves seemed to sparkle brighter.

"Now, share something you love!" Finn said.

Barnaby looked at his honey pot. He poured half into a small shell and pushed it toward a family of ants. They did a happy dance.

"Last, make someone smile!" Finn cheered.

Barnaby looked at Finn. "You made me smile today. Thank you, little friend."

Finn's scales turned the most brilliant shade of gold. "And you, Barnaby, have the most wonderful smile!"

Something warm bloomed in Barnaby's chest—warmmer than sunshine, sweeter than honey. He realized the Rainbow Vitamin wasn't something you swallow. It was something you gave away.

From that day on, Barnaby was never grumpy again. He visited Finn every morning, and together they spread sunshine, kindness, and the most magical vitamin of all—friendship.
