Barnaby's Orange Summer

Barnaby was not like the other bulls on Sunny Meadow Farm. While they slept in the shade and chewed grass all day, Barnaby dreamed of adventure.

Every afternoon, he watched children playing in the pond. "Swimming looks magical," Barnaby thought. "The water sparkles like diamonds!"

One hot July afternoon, something round and bright caught Barnaby's eye. An orange had fallen from the old tree near the fence and rolled right to his hooves. Barnaby had never seen anything so beautiful - it was like a tiny sun!

"Hello there!" squeaked a tiny voice. Barnaby looked down to see a small green frog hopping through the grass. "I'm Finn! What's your name?"

"I'm Barnaby," the bull said softly. "Would you like to share my orange?"

Finn's eyes widened. "Yes! But only if you promise to teach me how to be brave like you."

"But I'm not brave," said Barnaby. "I'm afraid to try swimming."

Finn hopped onto Barnaby's nose. "That's okay! Real friends help each other. I'll teach you to swim, and you can share your courage with me!"

Together they walked to the pond. At first, Barnaby only dipped his hooves in the cool water. But with Finn cheering "You can do it!" Barnaby took a deep breath and SPLASH! He was swimming!

The water felt like magic. Barnaby's heavy body floated like a cloud. He and Finn played until the sky turned pink and orange, just like Barnaby's special fruit.

That summer, Barnaby learned that being different was wonderful. He had a new friend, a new talent, and a favorite color - the beautiful orange of sunset, courage, and unexpected friendships.

And every afternoon, the other farm animals would watch in amazement as a bull and a frog swam together, best friends forever.
