Barnaby's Golden Secret

Barnaby was a small scruffy dog with fluffy brown hair that always stuck up in funny ways. The other dogs laughed at his messy fur, but Barnaby didn't mind. He had a secret feeling that someday, his hair would do something wonderful.

One hot summer day, Barnaby followed the children to the old swimming hole. He'd never been swimming before — dogs in his family were afraid of water. But something about the sparkling blue water called to him, like a whisper from a magical world.

"Please help us!" Sheldon said. "A baby dolphin is trapped in the seaweed caves beyond the coral reef. Only someone with glowing fur can find the way through the dark tunnels!"

Barnaby's heart swelled with courage. His hair twinkled brighter as he swam deeper than any dog had ever gone. Through twisting caves and past glittering jellyfish, Barnaby followed his golden glow until he found the scared little dolphin.
