Barnaby's Golden Discovery

Barnaby was a small dog with flopsy ears and a big heart. Every morning, he went running through the meadow behind his house, his tail wagging like a happy flag.

One Tuesday, something magical happened. While running past the old oak tree, Barnaby spotted something shiny half-buried in the dirt. He dug with his paws until he found a miniature golden pyramid no bigger than his paw.

Barnaby thought carefully. He could wish for endless bones, or a warm bed, or to be the fastest dog in the world. But then he thought of his best friend—Lily, the little girl who lived next door. She had been sad lately because she couldn't run and play like other children.

"I wish," Barnaby barked softly, "for my friend Lily to be happy and running in the meadow with me."

Pippin smiled. "A wish for another is the most powerful magic of all."

The fairy waved her tiny wand. A warm breeze swept through the meadow, carrying golden sparkles. The next morning, when Barnaby went running as usual, Lily came outside. She was smiling, and she ran right alongside him, laughing and chasing butterflies.
