Barnaby Bear and the Golden Riddle
Barnaby Bear lived in a cozy cave at the edge of the Whispering Woods. Every morning, he would munch on his favorite breakfast—fresh, crunchy spinach from his garden. While other bears slept all winter, Barnaby stayed awake, tending to his emerald green leaves.
One sunny morning, a sparkling sphinx appeared beside the garden gate. Her fur shimmered like moonlight, and her wise eyes held ancient secrets.
"Brave little bear," she purred, "I have guarded the Golden Vitamin for three hundred years. It grants the power to heal any hurt. But only one who answers my riddle may claim it."
Barnaby's heart thumped. He wanted to help his friend Rosie Rabbit, who had hurt her leg jumping over streams.
"I accept your challenge!"
The sphinx's riddle echoed through the garden: "I grow without moving, make sounds without speaking, and give strength without touching. What am I?"
Barnaby thought and thought. He watched his spinach leaves dancing in the breeze, reaching toward the sun. Suddenly, he knew!
"Nature!" he declared. "Plants grow without walking, wind makes music without words, and eating healthy food gives us strength!"
The sphinx smiled, and from her paw rolled a glowing golden tablet—the Golden Vitamin.
"You are wise and kind, Barnaby Bear. Use it well."
Barnaby rushed to Rosie's burrow. The golden tablet dissolved in her water, and within moments, Rosie hopped and skipped, her leg completely healed!
"Thank you, Barnaby!" she cheered.
That night, Barnaby munched his spinach under the stars, his heart full of joy. The sphinx had taught him something important: true strength comes from kindness, a clever mind, and healthy food.
From that day on, Barnaby shared his spinach with every animal in the woods, and they all grew strong and happy together.
