Barnaby and the Swimming Orange

Barnaby was a small dog with big ears and an even bigger dream. While other dogs chased cats and dug holes, Barnaby spent his days watching the river, wishing he could go swimming. But Barnaby had never learned how.

One hot summer afternoon, something extraordinary happened. An orange rolled down the hill and stopped right at Barnaby's paws. But this wasn't any ordinary orange — it glowed with a soft, golden light, and when Barnaby sniffed it, he smelled sunshine and adventure.

"Eat me," the orange seemed to whisper. Barnaby took a bite, and suddenly, he felt weightless. His paws began to move on their own, making graceful swimming motions even in the air!

Barnaby raced to the river and leaped in. To his amazement, he was swimming! He glided through the water like a fish, diving deep and surfacing with a splash. The magical orange had given him the gift of swimming.

But Barnaby noticed something sad: other dogs were watching from the shore, afraid to try. So he had an idea. He pushed the remaining orange toward them.

"Try it!" he barked happily. One by one, each dog took a bite. Soon, the river was full of swimming, splashing, laughing dogs.

Barnaby learned something that day: the best magic isn't kept to yourself. When you share your gifts, everyone can make waves together.
