Barnaby and the Golden Pyramid

Barnaby thought hard. "Making my family smile," he answered honestly. "And making new friends."

Pearl's scales glowed brighter. "That's exactly what makes magic work!" She explained that the pyramid was actually an ancient friendship vessel, created long ago to connect those with pure hearts.

That day, Barnaby made his three wishes: for his sick puppy friend to feel better, for the lonely neighbor girl to find a playmate, and for Pearl to have a companion who would visit her often. Pearl granted each wish with bursts of sparkly light.
