Barnaby and the Crystal Pyramid

Barnaby was a small bear with very big paws and an even bigger curiosity. He lived in the Whispering Woods, where the trees hummed soft lullabies at sunset. But Barnaby's favorite place was the clearing beyond the babbling brook, where something extraordinary stood.

It was a crystal **pyramid**, no taller than a honey jar, yet it sparkled with all the colors of sunrise. Barnaby had discovered it last spring, buried beneath a carpet of moss. Every morning, the pyramid caught the first light of dawn and scattered rainbow rays across the grass.

One chilly morning, Barnaby found his friend Ruby the rabbit shivering beneath a fern. "I don't feel well," she whispered, her nose twitching sadly. "My grandmother says I need something special to get better."

Barnaby's eyes widened. He remembered what the pyramid could do. On sunny days, it produced tiny glowing gems inside—each one a different color, like magical drops of sunshine. The old owl had called them "nature's little **vitamin**s," gifts from the earth itself to help creatures stay strong and healthy.

But the pyramid only opened for those with truly kind hearts.

Barnaby gently lifted Ruby onto his back and padded toward the clearing. The pyramid sensed their approach and began to glow warmer, brighter. Barnaby placed his paw on it and whispered, "Please help my friend."

Slowly, miraculously, the pyramid's sides unfolded like flower petals. Inside sat a single orange gem, pulsing with gentle light—the exact color of courage and warmth. Barnaby carefully lifted it with his claw and placed it near Ruby's nose.

She sniffed it, and her ears perked up. The gem dissolved into golden sparkles that swirled around her like tiny fireflies. Ruby's fur grew soft and fluffy again, and she hopped up, spinning with joy. "Barnaby! I feel wonderful!"

The crystal pyramid folded itself back together, its colors dancing brighter than ever. Barnaby realized something important that day: the magic hadn't come from the gem or the pyramid itself. It had come from kindness—from a friend who would do anything to help.

That evening, as the sun painted the sky pink and gold, Barnaby and Ruby sat side by side, watching the pyramid glow. And deep in the Whispering Woods, the trees hummed a new song—one about a little **bear** with a very big heart.
