Agent Mittens and the Orange Pyramid

orangepyramidcatspy

Lily's cat Mittens was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice and napped in sunbeams, Mittens had a secret job — she was a spy for the Kingdom of Magic.

Every night when the house grew quiet, Mittens would slip out through the cat door and race to the garden, where a shimmering orange pyramid stood hidden among the roses. The pyramid pulsed with golden light, and inside it slept the Dream Stone, a magical gem that brought happy dreams to children everywhere.

One moonlit night, Mittens spotted something unusual. Shadows moved near the pyramid! Her whiskers twitched. Someone was trying to steal the Dream Stone!

Mittens crept closer, her paws silent on the soft grass. A grumpy goblin named Grumble was prying at the pyramid's golden door with a rusty crowbar.

"No bad dreams allowed!" Mittens meowed bravely, leaping from the bushes.

Grumble jumped, dropping his crowbar with a clatter. "A cat? What can a fuzzy cat do?"

Mittens stood tall, her orange fur glowing in the moonlight. "I'm Agent Mittens, protector of happy dreams! And I have magic too!"

She touched her nose to the pyramid, and it blazed brilliant orange. Warm light wrapped around Grumble, and suddenly, the grumpy goblin began to smile. He remembered forgotten childhood dreams — flying on rainbows, dancing with stars, eating marshmallow clouds.

"I... I had forgotten," Grumble whispered, tears in his eyes. "Bad things happened, and I stopped believing in magic."

Mittens nuzzled his hand. "The Dream Stone works for everyone who believes. You don't need to steal it. You just need to dream."

That night, Grumble slept peacefully beside the pyramid, and for the first time in years, he had happy dreams. Mittens curled up protectively nearby, purring softly.

When Lily found Mittens the next morning, the cat looked particularly proud. "What did you do, my brave spy?" Lily whispered, scratching Mittens' ears.

Mittens just winked one golden eye and curled into a perfect orange circle for a well-earned nap.

Some cats chase mice. Some cats nap. But Mittens? She protected dreams — one magical night at a time.
