Agent Goldwell and the Magic Vitamin

Seven-year-old Lily peered into her fishbowl every morning, but she never expected her goldfish to wink back.

One Tuesday, as she sprinkled fish food, Goldwell the goldfish swam to the surface and whispered, "Psst! Are you going to eat that cereal?"

Lily gasped. "You can talk?"

Goldwell did a little flip. "I'm not just any goldfish. I'm a secret spy for the Fish Kingdom. We protect the world's oceans from pollution monsters."

"That's amazing!" Lily cried.

"But I have a problem," Goldwell confessed. "I need a special vitamin from the red apples in your kitchen. It's what gives me spy powers—fintastic speed, bubble messages, and the ability to understand humans."

Lily grabbed the reddest apple from the fruit bowl. Goldwell explained she should squeeze one drop into his bowl at midnight, when magic was strongest.

That night, Lily watched amazed as Goldwell transformed. His scales shimmered like tiny stars, and suddenly she could hear his thoughts: *"Agent Goldwell, ready for mission!"*

Through the window they zoomed—Goldwell flying in a magic bubble while Lily floated beside him. They spotted three boys littering near the pond. Goldwell created bubble letters spelling PLEASE HELP OUR EARTH.

The boys looked up, astonished. "Whoa!" one shouted. "It's a message!"

They picked up every piece of trash. Goldwell beamed. *"Mission accomplished, partner!"*

Back in Lily's room, Goldwell landed softly in his bowl. "You're my favorite human partner," he bubbled. "Being a spy is better with friends."

Lily smiled, knowing the greatest adventures are the ones we share together—even if your best friend has fins.
